PlayStation 3 / 3 slim: I have enabled MAC filtering on my router and I cannot connect. What can I do?
If you have enabled MAC filtering in your router’s menu, you may need to add your PlayStation 3’s MAC address to the MAC addresses that are accepted by your router. If you do not do so, your PlayStation 3 may remain blocked from accessing your network and thus the Internet. To check whether MAC filtering is enabled, you need to log into your router and go through the following steps.
1. Go to your web browser and enter http://sitecom.router (or http://192.168.0.1)
2. You will then be asked for your router’s user name (admin) and password. These are shown in the Network Login Details flyer that may have been supplied with it.
NB: if you have changed the name of your network and/or your password, you must use these modified details when logging in.
3. You are then taken to your router’s menu. This will look something like this (depending on your Sitecom router):
